CONVERSE – Poorman Weapon High + Low – New Colorways

http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/The Converse Poorman Weapon can be considered a hybrid of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star High, and the Weapon 86 basketball shoe. It’s versatile shape and design has made the shoe rather popular for collaborations as well. This season, Converse has released a new series of colorways for the Poorman Weapon high and low, and all take a rugged, military cue. The high top version comes in black and white, grey and red, and an olive on olive. Aside from the usual leather and suede, Converse seems to have added a little fabric into the mix as well. The low-top is a cool and easy grey on grey. These are all available on Converse right now.

Dr. Romanelli x CONVERSE – “Born In The USA” Chuck Taylor All Star Cup Sole

http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/In the past few years, collaborations have been recurring at such rampant rates that many projects are often half-hearted and lackluster. And recently, many have tried to steer away from collaboration unless it is a fresh idea that can be executed with flair. However, Dr. Romanelli is one of the rare few who has thrived on collaborations, and restores our faith in the world of cross-pollination. After having worked with Levi’s , Hello Kitty and more, Dr. Romanelli have laid his creative surgical touches on CONVERSE to create a “Born In The USA” pack. This capsule collection are based on the Chuck Taylor All Star Cup Sole. Of course, when paying tribute to the tradition of “Made In USA” and tapping into the great American pride, stars and stripes are indispensable players. One of the models is rendered in duck canvas and melton wool and features the red, white and blue stars and stripes with a collaborative Dr. Romanelli tongue tag and insoles. The other is a more subtle, black tonal rendition of the shoe, with a flash of color in gold eyelets and tongue tags. These are set to release soon on September 15 at Offspring, including Offspring at the Selfridges.

Jas M.B. x CONVERSE – Jack Purcell High – Antiqued Leather Edition

http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/Since 1993, accessories designer Jas Sehmbi been re-discovering the craft of mixology, not the sort you find in bars but in the skills of fusing needs in an urban surrounding with the classical skills of tannery from DJ bags to his re-interpretation of the city dweller’s staple, the messenger bag. Now comes the designer first collaboration with CONVERSE, more specifically the iconic Jack Purcell, for his Jas M.B. label. Wrapped in premium leather from Italy, of which Sehmbi painstakingly “antiqued” to create the crackled effect as if the Chuck Taylor has been worn thoroughly for a few decades, without the leather losing its integrity during the process. Converse x Missoni Chuck Taylor All Star Fall 2010 Collection

http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/If you loved the first collaboration between Converse and Missoni, you’re going to love the Fall 2010 styles! Continuing on the success of the Spring 2010 collaboration, two new patterns are being released for Fall. The classic Chuck Taylor All Star shoe feature black and white space dyed knits covering the sides and toecap, finished off with soft sheep leather in “Missoni Brick Red” on the split tongue, heel pull tab and partially lined collar, each pair is unique due to the space dyed technique.

Two patterns featured this season are bold horizontal stripes and the notorious Missoni zigzag pattern, created by a unique technique called Raschel revived by the Missoni house in the late ‘60s for high-end fashion. The shoes will launch in early September at Missoni boutiques (New York and Beverly Hills), Aloha Rag (New York), Canvas (Malibu) & Jeffrey’s (New York and Atlanta), and also at select retailers globally. These shoes retail price at $200 and will be available in unisex sizing 3 – 13. I bet more guys are going to dig this one especially since they did for the first round already.

“The possibility of collaborating with Converse was very flattering to me, a fascinating chance of stylistic dialogue and interaction. I liked the idea that Converse and Missoni, with their very strong, well recognizable and universally known identities, could get together in such a special way,” says Mrs. Angela Missoni, Creative Director of Missoni.

SSUR x CONVERSE Pro Leather 76 Hi | Detailed Look

http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/Like everything he does, artist Ruslan Karablin likes to be low key about it. Better known as SSUR, Karablin might be the last few bastions who propagate the true conviction of what street art is. It isn’t about self-promotion or the fame plus fortune, which usually follow. Instead, it is a pure of self-expression, or to raise the volume on social grievances mainstream media deemed unimportant. And though the neighborhood, the art, the culture, and etc…have all changed. SSUR was one who stayed the course through the thick and thin the past 15 years. In honor of that unyielding spirit, footwear label CONVERSE designed a special Pro Leather 1976 Model for the artist, set to release this weekend.

This SSUR x CONVERSE Pro Leather 76 Hi is a throwback to the urban street ball classic that first appeared in 1976. Known as Russ to his friends, the collaborative Pro Leather 76 Hi is in tonal black colorway, a signature theme of SSUR. A handsome appointment of premium suede upper with perforated Star Chevron, CONVERSE’s classic logo. A hint of its eminence from other CONVERSE sneakers, a metallic gold lace tab in the form of a shark tooth dominated the visual presence on the sneaker’s front while a gold embossed skull and cross bones, another SSUR signature, occupied the heel tabs on the back.

Like previous collaborations, CONVERSE will put out a limited number of pairs to select retailers, such as UNDFTD and SSUR’s own store around SoHo NYC. Set to release tomorrow, August 20th.
